- 1 part rolled oats
- 1 part barley
- 1 part cracked corn
- 1 part protein (sunflower seeds, split peas, or mealworms)
- ½ part calcium (crushed eggshells or oyster shells)
- Optional: dried herbs like parsley, nettle, or comfrey
- Optional: grit (if free-ranging is limited)
Instructions:
- Combine all dry ingredients in a large bin or storage container.
- Mix thoroughly using clean, gloved hands or a large scoop.
- Store in a cool, dry place in an airtight container.
- Feed ½–1 cup per hen per day, split between morning and evening.
- Keep clean, fresh water available at all times.
