Well hey there, darlinโ€™!

Pull up a rocker, grab yourself a mason jar of sweet tea with a lemon wedge, and letโ€™s settle in for a heart-to-heart. Today weโ€™re diving into the soul-soothing world of homesteading after lifeโ€™s big shake-ups. Whether youโ€™ve been through a divorce, watched the kids fly the nest, or just hit a moment where you said โ€œenoughโ€ to the rat race, youโ€™re in the right place.

Thank you for reading this post, don’t forget to subscribe!

Now, just like my Grandmaโ€™s sweet tea, healing takes a little time, a lotta love, and a touch of sugar. So Iโ€™m fixinโ€™ to show you how homesteading can be your new beginningโ€”one chicken coop and tomato vine at a time.

1. Planting Roots After Life Uproots You

When life throws a curveball, we crave grounding. Homesteading helps you reclaim your space, literally. Putting your hands in the dirt reminds youโ€”youโ€™re still here, still growing.

  • After my divorce, planting tomatoes was the first time I felt hope again.
  • Building a raised bed was like building my new lifeโ€”one board, one nail, one deep breath at a time.
  • Bonus: pulling weeds feels shockingly therapeutic.

2. Feeding Your Soulโ€”And Maybe Some Chickens

Thereโ€™s nothing quite like the quiet joy of gathering eggs in the morning or picking herbs for supper. Itโ€™s nourishment for the body and the spirit.

  • Brew kombucha or bake bread? Thatโ€™s alchemy and art, yโ€™all.
  • Every small winโ€”like your first zucchiniโ€”feels like reclaiming a piece of yourself.
  • Plus, fresh eggs just hit different.

3. Making Space for Stillness (and Maybe a Porch Swing)

Homesteading isnโ€™t about rushing. Itโ€™s slow, steady, and soulful. You begin to match your pace to natureโ€™s rhythm, and thatโ€™s where the healing sneaks in.

  • Set up a little sitting spot in the garden.
  • Sip tea, watch bees, breathe. Thatโ€™s it. Thatโ€™s the magic.

4. Common Mistakes (Bless Your Heart) and How to Dodge โ€˜Em

Darlinโ€™, donโ€™t go all in with goats, bees, and 12 raised beds your first month. Ask me how I know.

  • Start small. One project. One win.
  • Donโ€™t compare your beginning to someone elseโ€™s 10-acre Instagram farm.
  • Itโ€™s okay to mess up. Thatโ€™s just part of learning.

5. Insider Secrets Your Southern Granny Would Swear By

  • Mason jars arenโ€™t just cuteโ€”theyโ€™re multipurpose magic.
  • Vinegar, baking soda, and elbow grease fix almost everything.
  • Chickens are therapy with feathers.

Now darlinโ€™, as we wrap up this little heart-to-heart about how homesteading can help heal a tender soul, remember: just like a perfectly brewed pitcher of sweet tea, good things take time and a little sugar. So, get your hands dirty, your heart open, and let nature and nurture work their magic.

Try one small homesteading project this weekโ€”and tell me how it felt. Iโ€™ll be right here cheering you on with my feet up and my tea glass full.

๐ŸŒฟ The Plan of Salvation 1. Godโ€™s Love and Purpose for You God created you to be in relationship with Him and to have eternal life. John 3:16 (KJV) โ€œFor God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.โ€ Jeremiah 29:11 (KJV) โ€œFor I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.โ€ 2. The Problem: Our Sin Separates Us from God All people have sinned, and sin causes spiritual deathโ€”separation from God. Romans 3:23 (KJV) โ€œFor all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.โ€ Romans 6:23 (KJV) โ€œFor the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.โ€ 3. The Solution: Jesus Paid the Price for Our Sin Jesus Christ lived a sinless life and died in our place. He rose from the dead, defeating sin and death. Romans 5:8 (KJV) โ€œBut God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.โ€ 1 Peter 2:24 (KJV) โ€œWho his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.โ€ 4. Our Response: Receive Jesus by Faith We are saved by grace through faith, not by our works. We must personally receive Christ into our hearts. Ephesians 2:8โ€“9 (KJV) โ€œFor by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast.โ€ Romans 10:9โ€“10 (KJV) โ€œThat if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.โ€ 5. The Result: A New Life in Christ When you accept Jesus, you are made new and begin a lifelong relationship with God. 2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV) โ€œTherefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.โ€ John 1:12 (KJV) โ€œBut as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.โ€ โœจ Would You Like to Pray? If youโ€™ve never accepted Jesus as your Savior, you can do it right now. A simple prayer from the heart might sound like this: โ€œLord Jesus, I know I am a sinner and I need Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose again. I trust You as my Savior and invite You into my heart and life. Help me to turn from my sin and follow You. Thank You for saving me. Amen.โ€
